Alice Drake and the Crystals of Eden

An ancient philosophy of duality, merged with cutting-edge genetic science, has unlocked the path to super spirituality. In a secret operation within the U.S. Department of Defense’s medical division, a team of scientists has developed advanced stem cell techniques to awaken hidden human potential — granting a few unique individuals the ability to manipulate the spiritual world just beyond our senses. This extraordinary skill allows them to detect evil intent before it is acted upon.

Sanford Cross holds the key to this breakthrough. Along with three young military officers, Sanford becomes part of a black operations team called the Paragons, who can manipulate human emotions, heal injuries, reverse aging, and much more — abilities that defy human understanding. These abilities are invaluable to law and military when looking for one terrorist with a bomb or a lone shooter. When everyone in the crowd looks alike, only the Paragons can see evil.

Their newfound powers have drawn the attention of an unscrupulous billionaire oligarch who runs the secret Ferrante Institute. Obsessed with harnessing these abilities for himself, he will stop at nothing to steal the Paragon’s secrets. What follows is a battle against terrorism, kidnapping, murder, and betrayal. The Paragons fight to protect their gifts and ensure their power isn’t exploited by evil. In a world where immortality is the ultimate prize — those with wealth will burn everything down to get what they want.

Can the Paragons survive an evil billionaire with unlimited resources?

Steve’s Corner

This was a very difficult book to write, in that it took twice as long.  The problems I had were in figuring out how to integrate the science and technology into the storyline.  This was not simply “magic” but it was the idea that religion and science both “suggest” we could live much longer than we do.  Furthermore, most of the science in Sanford Cross has actually occurred in real life.  So the question was, “What if we could find the perfect DNA of humans destined to live 100s of years?  And if so, could this DNA help us “design” long lives and perhaps even super spirit type powers?  This is who Sanford Cross is.

Review Highlights

  • “I have never read a book like this.  It required me to think about the story.  It blurred the lines between fiction and fact, to make me wonder what is possible.”
